Real Bipolar Self-care Tips | HealthyPlace

After my bipolar 2 diagnosis, I came across the term “bipolar self-care”. I really didn’t have a clue what that meant. As I read through the article, there was a list of bipolar self-care tips that I slowly incorporated into my life and I began to understand how important self-care is when you live with bipolar disorder.
So, in this video, I talk about the ways self-care plays a role in my life with bipolar 2 disorder. Hopefully, it will help you.

Many people associate self-care with relaxation and pampering, but when you live with bipolar disorder, it is an essential part of managing your mental health on a daily basis. In my daily routine, self-care habits have become ingrained. There are no set guidelines for bipolar disorder self-care techniques, and I have learned that the best methods are the ones that suit your personality.

Taking care of myself means filling my mind with inspirational thoughts. The primary source for that is Pinterest. Every day, I look through quotes and daily readings that make me feel at ease. When you live with bipolar disorder, it is essential that we relate our passions to self-care. Whether it be traveling or meditation, take time for yourself to find clarity and gain a sense of inspiration on a daily basis.
